Online payments

• Your own Stripe or PayPal account: the money goes straight to you, and card details are typed on the payment provider's own secure page, never on your website's server.
• Order e-mails: you and your customer both get a confirmation, and every payment shows up in your admin.

Point-of-sale and other systems

Point-of-sale, accounting and inventory systems differ a great deal. Many of them offer an API that a website can talk to; some do not. Tell me which system you use, and I will check what it allows before I promise anything.
