Server Setup & Configuration
A Linux server set up for your website or application, configured for the job it has to do and handed over with a written record of how it is put together.
What I set up
- The web server for your site or application, with HTTPS certificates that renew automatically.
- The database your application uses, with access limited to what needs it.
- Mail sending for your site's forms and notifications, with the domain records mail providers check before they trust a message.
- A firewall that leaves open only the ports your services use, and SSH sign-in with keys.
- Backups on a schedule, and a restore actually tried, so you know they work.
What you get at the end
- A server that runs your site, checked page by page after the move.
- A written record of what is installed, where it is configured and how to undo each change.
What this is not
This is setup work. It is not round-the-clock monitoring or an emergency hotline.
How I work
- You tell me what the server has to run, and where it is hosted.
- I agree the setup with you before I start.
- I set it up, move your site if there is one, check it, and hand over the record.
Pricing
The work is quoted after a short conversation about your server. See how pricing works.
